Kruder & Dorfmeister

Peter Kruder and Richard Dorfmeister... My two favourite Austrians! They have produced and mixed some of the most beautiful and relaxing beats of modern times.

First time I heard Kruder & Dorfmeister was sometime during 1997 when I had accidentally recorded Gilles Peterson's Worldwide program. I listened the tape as background music and soon fell in love with track called DJ kicks by Kruder & Dorfmeister.

It took me 3 years to get my first K & D album (K & D Sessions) but it was worth the wait! I now have all their major recordings and most albums they have released with other artists or as solo.

K & D music is quite relaxing music and sometimes during late nights I just lie in the sofa at dark living room and enjoy the beats and admire how the pieces have been put together beatifully.

Tosca is a side project for Richard Dorfmeister and Rupert Huber. Their music is quite similar for K & D mixes but all their songs (if you can call them songs) are written by Dorfmeister and Huber whereas K & D songs were usually remixes made from other artist's songs.

Peter Kruder have been making music under name Peace Orchestra. While not as mellow as original K & D or Tosca, it is still very skillfully made music. I like it!
